I use the services of Monkhouse on a regular basis. It’s my destination conference centre. Compared to others in the area they offer value for money and the premises are always clean, well prepared and I am always greeted with a friendly welcome. The furnishings are comfortable and yet the equipment offered is of a very high standard. The centre offers everything you could wish for, for anything from a small meeting up to a full conference with catering and anything in between. I wouldn’t go anywhere else.

I would like to say that we have held many events at the Monkhouse Granary, from training sessions to Team Development Days. The venue provides for all our needs, from technological requirements to excellent home produced food. What a fantastic conference venue, after holding conferences for the last 15 years at various venues, I would strongly recommend the Monkhouse Granary to anyone requiring the perfect first class conferencing service. The location is ideal with central links to all areas for both Shropshire and further afield. The venue itself was more akin to Grand Designs than your standard conference facility. It was such a refreshing change to have a dedicated conference facility (instead of a bolted on service in a hotel), offering latest technologies, dedicated parking, a team on hand that could not do enough, a comfortable and stylish conference room environment, wonderful food and a setting that encompassed both countryside and main transport links.
We were very satisfied throughout last year (2008) but just for information we recently decided to try a different location which was only an hour away from us. Our experience of trying an alternative location in a regular hotel resulted in us coming back to you! Even though the other location was easier for us all to get to the room and surroundings were no where near the standard of your Granary. I had a discussion with my sales team and although the Monkhouse is a 3 hour drive for me, and further for the rest of the team we would rather drive the extra distance than resort to a typical hotel meeting room. To give you an idea we travel from Crewe, Wrexham, Shrewsbury, Chester and Nottingham. I would gladly recommend your site for the following reasons:

My recent 60th birthday celebration, a buffet supper for 40 guests,was a great success, due largely to Clare’s organization.
The Hayloft, set out with carefully decorated tables(including arrangements of my favourite flowers) looked beautiful. Welcoming drinks on arrival and an excellent buffet, served with calm efficiency by Clare and her family, ensured that everyone had a wonderful evening in a relaxed and Convivial setting.
INC (Shropshire) hold all their master classes at Monkhouse Granary. The facilities are excellent – whichever room layout we choose – and the home-made cakes are absolutely delicious!

I recently needed a top quality meeting facility both to conduct a seminar and to use for filming some of my company’s mission critical video work. When your organizing a 2 hour session with both the speakers and the delegates arriving straight from work, you don’t want to waste time setting-up. At Monkhouse you don’t. One quick call ahead of the day has enabled our presenters to get exactly the layout and equipment that they need. It’s there, ready to role, on time, every time.The facilities are ideal. clearly planned with users like us in mind. The rooms a flexible and comfortable. Airy and light but with good acoustics. All-in-all a great learning ambience. The Monkhouse team are great too. Courteous and supportive without being fussy or intrusive. And as for the catering – no complaints there! The homemade cakes and cheese-board are particular favourites with our delegates.
WiRE (Women in Rural Enterprise) uses the Monkhouse Granary regularly and we are absolutely delighted with the food, facilities and service that we receive from Clare and Iris. Some 30 WiRE members congregate once a month and are universal in their raise for the buffet lunch, lovely staff and other facilities (you know what I mean ladies!) Our trainers can just turn up – they know that everything will be in place to stand up and go (no re-arranging the room and mending the OHP). We have been using the Monkhouse Granary for a development programme for 18 people since February. As the day is quite interactive, the usual “classroom” style is not required. Working with Clare and her team is excellent, they are very responsive to any request and even more importantly, they remember what you need for the next time you are there. The setting is lovely and the use of the room downstairs for break out activities and refreshments is valuable. The email and internet facility is also very useful. Nothing is too much trouble for the team and every effort is made to ensure that your workshop goes as smoothly as possible.
