Clare: Business Owner

I first had the idea for Monkhouse Granary in 2003. The doors opened in 2004, after a ‘makeover’ of what was the garage, log-shed and a general storage room – once a Granary and Coach house. We are now in year fifteen and have many regular guests, who have been visiting us since we first started the business. We keep welcoming new people who have just discovered us, from all over the UK. Lizzie will look after your every need but I am always here to make sure that every guest is happy with their experience at Monkhouse  Granary.

Lizzie: Events and administrative executive

Lizzie joined Monkhouse Granary in January 2019. Since graduating, she has developed a broad skill set, gaining experience in several industries; including IT, social care and education. Alongside working at Monkhouse Granary, Lizzie has a keen interest in teaching yoga. A combination of all these experiences will ensure that all of our guests at Monkhouse Granary are perfectly looked after and that all facilities are running smoothly with calm efficiency!

“I would like to introduce you to our family business. We established Monkhouse Granary in 2004, after I returned from working in London and identified a need in Shropshire for professional yet peaceful meeting facilities. Today we have evolved, still providing what we set out to, accompanied by high speed wifi and homemade cakes and biscuits. We now find we have more guests using us as a meeting hub on a regular basis for home-workers, alongside training sessions, presentations and board meetings. We have listened to what you need from us and adapted our rooms and service accordingly. We hope to welcome you to Monkhouse Granary.” From Clare Downes

We encourage our guests to view our facilities and meet the Monkhouse Team.  We feel that this provides you with confidence in our venue facilities and how we will work with you to manage your meeting or event. Visiting Monkhouse Granary will give you an understanding of our event and venue capabilities.

We are very happy to show you around and chat through your possible meeting requirements. We are open seven days a week, day and evening.

There is always a slice of homemade cake or a tasty homemade biscuit to enjoy!
